Missions

Shiloh Baptist Church has a strong history of supporting missions. Through special offerings, special mission events, and affiliations with organizations such as the North American Mission Board, International Mission Board, and Woman's Missionary Union, we provide prayer and monetary support to make a difference in our community, our state, our nation and throughout the world.

World Hunger

We focus on this offering in October, and we designate the money from the revival towards our goal for World Hunger. Funds collected are distributed to both the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board for hunger relief. A total of 20 percent is given to national needs and 80 percent is given to international needs.

Alma Hunt / Virginia State Missions

We focus on this offering in September. All money collected from this offering goes to support many different missions we are doing right here in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The funding goes to, but is not limited to, some of the following: WMUV Ministry Projects, WMUV Leadership Development, WMUV Missions Education, new church investments, Impact Virginia, Virginia Baptist Disaster Relief Services, Kingdom Advance, ministers, families in crises, and student missions initiatives.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

We focus on this offering in December. This is for international missionaries. We try to focus not only on praying for our missionaries who are sharing Christ around the World but also on keeping in mind their sacrifices as they continue to share the gospel. 100 percent of all funds collected goes to support missionaries overseas. Lottie Moon makes up 53 percent of the International Mission Board's total income.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

We focus on this offering in March. This offering is named after Annie Walker Armstrong, who was born in 1850. Annie led women to become more involved in missions by raising financial support, praying, and crossing barriers of all types to meet both physical and spiritual needs. Her leadership led to the formation of the WMU (Woman's Missionary Union).
